Tip of the Week - Facial Toner

Many people underestimate the importance of using a toner. It's actually one of the most frequently skipped steps in a skincare routine.. So we are here to inform you on just how important it truly is!

Toner balances the skin's pH after cleansing
Preps the skin for moisturizers, serums, treatments, etc.
Helps remove any leftover dirt, makeup, oil, etc.
Travels deep into pores to kill bacteria

We suggest putting your toner on a cotton pad/round to wipe onto your face after cleansing. It's a quick process that your skin will definitely benefit from. :)

Tip of the Week - Body Exfoliation

It is recommended that you exfoliate your body at least twice a week to eliminate build-up on the skin. By exfoliating, your body lotion will penetrate better and if you use self-tanner, it will apply more evenly. We love exfoliating because it allows skin to shine through with the utmost radiance. We do suggest following up with a body moisturizer or lotion, though, to help ensure the skin doesn't get too dry. :)

Our favorite is the Aveda Beautifying Radiance Polish. It will gently exfoliate the skin, polish the skin in order to remove environmental pollutants, and moisturize the skin with its certified organic blend of nourishing oils!

Tip of the Week - Water Temperature for Hair Washing

We suggest washing your hair with warm water to remove dirt and product build-up, but then rinsing with cool water to add shine, seal in moisture, and prevent frizz. And if you have colored hair, rinsing with cold water will also help to preserve your color longer. (Our Aveda Color Conserve shampoo and conditioner is also a great choice for helping to preserve your color!)

If you were to ONLY use warm-hot water, it can cause your color to fade faster, cause frizz, and make your hair dry and brittle over time. If you were to ONLY use cool-cold water, it can cause your hair to be less voluminous.

Adjusting the water temperature while washing is one small change that can make a big difference for your hair! :)

Hair Conditioning Tips

We would like to give some tips for conditioning your hair. You should apply conditioner to only the mid-shaft to ends of your hair. We then suggest to let the product sit on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing. Allowing it to sit on helps the conditioner do its job better than if you were to immediately rinse it out.
